Early Life and Education
Ted Cruz was born in 1970 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father.
He grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended Second Baptist School, where he excelled in academics and athletics. Cruz went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
Following law school, Cruz worked as a clerk for Chief Justice William Rehnquist of the U.S. Supreme Court. He then practiced law in Texas before entering politics.
Political Career
Cruz was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012, representing Texas. He is known for his conservative views and has been a vocal critic of the Obama administration.
In 2016, Cruz ran for the Republican presidential nomination. He was a strong contender but ultimately lost to Donald Trump. Cruz has remained an outspoken voice in the Republican Party and is considered a potential candidate for president again in the future.
