Official Government Data

WEB GovTrack gets its information from a variety of sources, including official government data. This data includes information from the Library of Congress, the Government Printing Office, and the Congressional Research Service.

Community Data Repositories

WEB GovTrack also gets its information from community data repositories. These repositories include information from organizations such as the Sunlight Foundation, the Center for Responsive Politics, and OpenSecrets.

Open-Source Congress Project

The site uses the open-source Congress project to automate and simplify retrieving the data. The ProPublica Congress API is the only public API for the Congress project.

API Data Gov

APIdatagov is a free API management service for federal agencies. Our aim is to make it easier for agencies to release and manage APIs.
