In the isolated forests of the Pacific Northwest, a devoted father is raising his children far from the distractions of modern society.
Viggo Mortensen stars as Ben Cash, a former professor who has created an off-the-grid lifestyle for his six children. They live in the wilderness, learning survival skills, reading classic literature, and engaging in intellectual discussions.
The trailer for "Captain Fantastic" shows the family's idyllic existence, but also hints at the challenges they face. Ben's unconventional approach to parenting is put to the test when his wife dies and he is forced to confront the outside world.
The film, written and directed by Matt Ross, also stars Missi Pyle, Kathryn Hahn, George MacKay, and Steve Zahn.
