Bangladesh beat Netherlands in Group B match

Chittagong, March 13, 2011

Bangladesh defeated Netherlands by six wickets in a Group B match of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup in Chittagong on Monday.

Electing to bat first, the Dutch could only manage 160 runs, with Ryan ten Doeschate top-scoring with 53. Bangladesh's bowlers were in fine form, with Abdur Razzak taking 3-29.

In reply, Bangladesh chased down the target with relative ease, reaching 166 for 4 in 40.1 overs. Tamim Iqbal (33), Imrul Kayes (73), and Shakib Al Hasan (28*) were the main contributors with the bat.

The victory was Bangladesh's second in the tournament, following their win over Ireland in their opening match. They now have four points from three matches and are in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages.

Netherlands, meanwhile, have lost all three of their matches and are almost certainly out of contention for a place in the last eight.
